The trend of population aging and planning of health services for the elderly: A review study

Background & Aim: Ageing represents the accumulation of changes in a human being over time, and it is synonymous with the beginning of the age of 65.The purpose of this paper is to provide a picture of the growth of the elderly population in the world and planning and policies to provide health services to this category of the population. Methods: This study was conducted to review. There were comprehensive review of studies of various aspects of the aging population and their health problems and planning for their health care with use of key words "Elderly population", "elderly health", "elderly health plan" on Institute of Information Science, the journal database  and Medline database was conducted. In the next step, screening was conducted with regard to inclusion and exclusion criteria, in three phases (according to the title, abstract and original paper) and data extraction on the remaining articles (15 articles) was performed. Finally was used a meta-analysis or fictional (quote) with respect to homogeneous or heterogeneous of data.
